[Judith Devaux granted by the Edouard-Marcel Sandoz Price ]

News Bry-sur-Marne English version News : Judith Devaux granted by the Edouard-Marcel Sandoz Price - National Animalists Fair of Bry-sur-Marne, Friday 14th November 2008. http://artistes-animaliers.com/ After long preparation, we were all ready for the Fair! It was the Day-D in presence of Michel Lasnier, President of the Fair and Gilles Carrez, deputy. At this occasion, several talented people were rewarded. Danielle Beck for her incredible work in painting, Chesade and Umberto for their work in sculpture, and some others..
Mr François Landolt, great son of the artist Sandoz, gave away the Sandoz’ Price.

Here is the way he expressed the other day:
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is a great pleasure for me tonight to reward Judith Devaux for her great work, giving her the Sandoz Price, offered by the National Animalists Society. My pleasure is all the greater in that I am completely in agreement with the choice of the selection committee.
Indeed, the “Hymn to life, hymn to joy” that Judith Devaux would have singing through his sculptures is what guided my grandfather Eduard Marcel Sandoz throughout his life of curiosity, projects and joie de vivre, which ended, early in his 90th year, when he simply forgot to wake up.
Even the themes treated by Judith Devaux are close to me, like ducks, subjects of many works realised by Sandoz ; included the hooded hawk wich is made for a table center-piece.

The cat poses, but sometimes she is taken by a crazy desire to play in the high spices of the garden. She hides, waits for me, jumps up on me, but soon finds her dignity.

Jean Hey, Grand Palais

When I was a child, I grew up in Moulins and had the time to study the famous Maître de Moulins' triptych and his so strict Virgin. It was only years later that I discovered and began to appreciate the work of Jean Hey, major artist of the French Renaissance, whose paintings will be presented next Autumn at the Grand Palais, France 1500, between Middle-Age and Renaissance, from October 6th to January 10th 2011.
