grèbe de profil Judith Devaux
Realization of centerpiece “ hooded falcon” for the goldsmith ODIOT.

"ODIOT is a world class example of preserving the exceptional “know how” and strives for an incomparable collection of moulds and drawings created over centuries to the favor of prestigious orders.”"

[Press excerpt.]
"While calling upon the animal sculptor Judith Devaux for the creation of “hooded falcon” decorative basket, ODIOT opens his universe to an artist with an asserted style; from the long work of observation which emerges a truth, expressed by a synthetic approach to the forms that privileges the accuracy of the attitude and from which arises the vital momentum of her work.  The full and stretched lines of the falcon translate the concern to return his deep substance and his misleading immobile attitude.  With this very contemporary fruit basket, ODIOT combines the present time with the fidelity of the know-how of a prestigious goldsmith of France and widens their palette to figurative research renewed full of audacity and liberty.”.

Jean Hey, Grand Palais

When I was a child, I grew up in Moulins and had the time to study the famous Maître de Moulins' triptych and his so strict Virgin. It was only years later that I discovered and began to appreciate the work of Jean Hey, major artist of the French Renaissance, whose paintings will be presented next Autumn at the Grand Palais, France 1500, between Middle-Age and Renaissance, from October 6th to January 10th 2011.
